Hello everyone. I'm relatively new having moved from downtown Boston to MV24 last August. I don't own a car (I feel like the last person in the country who doesn't) and I'm really missing my ZipCars. I've recently put in my second request to ZipCar to locate some cars in Central Square and this time they finally responded to me, saying they'd at least review my request (along with those of everyone else). I don't know if you all have talked about ZipCar in the past (a quick search of this blog doesn't readily show you have) - but ZipCar would be yet one more factor making this area attractive. If you haven't done so, I urge you to go to ZipCar's website and ask them to put a couple of cars here in Central Square. Tell them everything this place has going for it and how there is a big population of loft-living types who might be interested in using ZipCar. It really is a fantastic service.

One of my neighbors in 7 Central has put in a request or two. She doesn't post on this forum, but I'll let her know someone else has put in a request and maybe she will try again. I think I know at least three without cars, here.

You should meet Ken from the 5th fl. I know he rents cars with some frequency.

Thanks for your suggestion regarding Zipcars in Lynn. As you are probably aware our footprint in this market currently includes the greater Boston area south to Quincy, West to Newton, and north to Malden. It is certainly possible as we continue to grow that a Zipcar location could work in Lynn, but logistically it doesn't make sense for us right now. Isn't it funny how what logistically makes sense to companies never matches what logically makes sense to potential customers? I wonder what would have to change to make these needs meet?
