I heard that the place that was once the Bistro, is going to be a sports bar / burger place.
Would be nice to see something a little different, I think there are plenty of burger places.

There are a lot of sports/bar burger places. We already have Tatiana's downtown, though they are also more than that. I'm also a vegetarian and not a sports fan, so if the new place is strictly a sports bar/burger joint, there's not much I can do to give them business. But the longest discussion thread in the forums is about burger places. I'd rather see a place succeed than cater to my tastes, though it sucks having limited vegetarian options around here compared with Boston/Cambridge/Somerville etc. Even the Bistro was really limited. Their regular veggie option wasn't much of a meal.

They're opening on the 15th. There's some kind of event for folks living in the neighborhood Thurs. evening. I, unfortunately, won't be able to make it. I hope the food is *really* good 'cause the menu looks a little boring IMO. But then again, I'm generally an adventurous eater.

A few people have mentioned Thursday and I don't know how that "rumor" got started. I can tell you for a fact that the event is this Tuesday, April 7th! I wonder if that means you can make it, now? The RSVP date was by Friday but if you email them through http://www.theblueoxlynn.com/ I'm sure it'll be fine.
