The Front Porch* is sponsoring three free drumming circles this May and June for Lynn seniors. No musical experience is necessary to participate.

Mamadou Diop is a North Shore based musician from West Africa, who has extensive experience with drumming and drumming circles. Whether you have already or you haven’t yet experienced one of Mamadou’s drumming circles or performances, you are in for a treat! Read more about him and hear some of his music at: http://web.mamadou.com/

Drumming circles will be held in Lynn on the following dates in the afternoon.

Wednesday May 20, 2009
Wednesday May 27, 2009
Wednesday June 3, 2009

Please contact Sara at skramer@jfsns.org by no later than Thursday May 14, 2009 for more information and to reserve your place and get the exact location and times of the sessions.

This program is supported in part by a grant from the Lynn Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.

*The Front Porch is a NORC (Naturally Occurring Retirement Community) program of Jewish Family Service of the North Shore, designed to enhance the lives of seniors in two designated North Shore communities. Programs are open to all residents of Summit Estates, members of Congregation Ahabat Sholom and residents of the neighborhood in Lynn defined by the following streets: Nahant Street, Lynn Shore Drive, Ocean Street and Broad/Lewis Streets regardless of religious affiliation.
